Molex introduces the Polymicro TechnologiesTM fiber bundle assembly . The fiber bundle assembly is custom-configured to meet the needs of scientific and industrial optics including biotechnology and pharmaceutical diagnostics, semiconductor manufacturing and inspection, and laser welding and marking.
Teodor Tichindelean, Molex 's global product manager for Polymicro Technologies products, said: "Quality and precision are critical to the measurement of samples in spectroscopy, and standard components are very difficult to meet. Our high-power fiber bundle components are The manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished products, is done in one place, achieving consistent quality and precise performance."
At the same location, Molex combines large fiber counts, design support for large-aggregate fiber bundles, and fiber production and assembly, resulting in significant cost savings. Its manufacturing process integrates the largest number of fibers in a bundle while minimizing space waste. The spliced bundling design is suitable for high temperature applications where high power density luminaires and lasers are required, eliminating the need for epoxy, fluorescing and interstitial space typically required in multiple fiber bundles.
Polymicro Technologies' fiber optic components support virtually any number of fibers in a single component, including both lightguide and inspection fibers for maximum design flexibility and adaptability. High-precision fiber arrays provide excellent throughput and input-output shape conversion performance. A robust fiber bundle can withstand a wide range of operating conditions.
Polymicro Technologies' fiber bundle assemblies combine quartz glass and precision components to provide optical, electrical and mechanical properties, as well as micromachined ends, metal terminations or precision couplings. Fibers can be bundled at one end and multiple configurations at the other end. Custom end shapes can be micromachined directly on the fiber, reducing the loss of coupling and coupling. Termination styles and termination techniques, jacket styles, and fiber types can be specified.
Tichindelean added: "Customer design requirements vary in complexity. Polymicro Technologies' single-source fiber bundle components can be tailored to specific applications and requirements for unmatched design flexibility and cost savings."
